| Hack your Ikea Chair 2 - Let's Rock Crochet!
It still is a "Work in Progress Chair." It took a while to figure out how to make the slip over cover for the chair but by now it has the funky look I wanted to achieve. Next step will be to crochet the elements together. At the beginning I had the idea to sew the elements on the slip cover but by now I decided to crochet them together because this way it'll be more robust and can stand movement on the seat.
Hack your Ikea Chair - Let's Rock Crochet!
On the photo above you can see the Ikea hack "Work In Progress Chair". It'll be finished in a couple of days. I really like the concept because you're able to play with the elements, move them around, playing with colors, structures as well as materials. I think it's perfect for crochet beginners because even if you only know the basic stitches you're able to create something unique, beautiful, crazy, hype, cool. I'm enjoying the play factor in this concept like G.B. Shaw said "We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing". We bought these Ikea chairs because we couldn't find the chairs we wanted to have - but now we will have them soon. It's fun!
Networking, Etsy for Beginners and Afra
The above photo is a wonderful example of my friend Afra's amazing work. See more at afra.etsy.com.
Today really was a wonderful day. I spent almost the whole day with networking, reading in the Etsy Handbook for Sellers and about how other sellers promote their shops. I'm still on my way to discover all the secrets but I'm moving forward and I'm so excited about having my shop. I also updated my flickr account which I've been neglecting a bit lately. Something wonderful happen today - one of my favorite sellers on Etsy afra.etsy.com nominated my fingerless gloves for the Etsy's Gift Guides etsy.com/forums The shop Afra afra.etsy.com are two close friends from Istanbul. Asli and Azra. Check out their flickr account at flickr.com/photos/atolyeafra Azra and Asli are making all these beautiful, gorgeous crochet and knitted garments and on top of that they also making these beautiful, artful designs for armchairs flickr.com/photos/atolyeafra
